Vin# Blocked

Thank you JavaMann, I was able to slip in between the windshield and the dash and move the foam stripping up away from the Vin# for now, not sure if it's going to just slip back down again when the windshield gets hot again. I use a one inch strip of cardboard with the end bent but it isn't strong enough to push the piece back far enough to get it back under the black border. I'm trying to think of something else that I can use that won't break or scratch. I will post again if I figure something out or if I get any other suggestions from members that works. Thanks again.
Regards,
Chuck

Hey, that sounds good! If/when you get your windshield replaced, this area would be fully accessible, too. Either get your glass guy to let you in there, or have them fix it permanently at that time. I'm not sure if re-attaching it or cutting it off would be best at that point, but it would help with access nonetheless.

Could you use just a bit of crazy glue on the end of the cardboard and let them touch until it hardens and then pull it out?

It may sound strange, but how about a wooden back scratcher. I see them all over the place. They are already curved on the end and the wood shouldn't scratch the window.

Can you fold the cardboard and glue it inside of the bend to make it stronger?

Thank you everyone for all your suggestions. I will be working on this this week so as soon as I figure something out I will post the results. (If I figure something out?) Thanks again.

Chuck

HipHotRod, did you try the hanger? Just wondering if it worked.
Thanks, Chuck

I would wrap some tape on the end of a hanger, so that the VIN plate doesn't get scratched.
