Warning Lights

My 2009 HHR for some time now on startup shows "Service Traction" Service ESC". I just reset it with the INFO button and drive on. Dealer is quoting me $1200 to fix it! Anyone have any suggestions? My regular mechanic tells me he can't get the part, it's GM only!

Well, we would have to have the diagnosis, what part, why can't he get it from GM?

What part?????? $1200 for what?????? You didn't think to ask?
Can't get what part? Just because it is dealer only, could go to a dealer parts department.
My guess would be a bad wheel hub. NOT dealer only.
How can you turn the warnings off in the INFO button?
Some genius should have suggested getting the OBD2 codes read. Probably be some C00xx code.

$1,200? Prolly what a dealer would charge for a new wheel bearing. Maybe 2. Absurd.

Go to a parts store and scan for codes. You need to read C codes. Some stores can't do that. Write down the codes and post here. Ignore the descriptions.

You may just have a loose or corroded sensor wire or plug. Also, clear any dirt or junk around each wheel sensor. There's a TSB about this. Write down the codes and ignor the descriptions.
