weird "slurping" sound?
carb cleaner was suggested to me too but where do i spray it? like around the edges and look for bubbling? or actually in the intake? Ive used TB cleaner in the past when i first got the car so i know its not a gunk build up, more and more it sounds like a leak. The intake manifold was replaced at the dealer and to me it never sounded right when i got it back. Plus i think i have a leak in the exhaust somewhere also, so i think i have a problem on both ends on the engine - intake mani and exhaust mani or downpipe lol
Intake manifold leak would be a vacuum leak. In other words it would "suck in". Spraying carb cleaner, starter fluid or anything flammable, it would be drawn in at any leaks and rev up the engine.
Don't take this the wrong way, but I don't think this is one for you to try by yourself. I've read a lot of your other posts and questions and don't think your mechanical ability is up to this.
Better to be on the safe side. Find a good shop to do this.

no offense taking george, im no mechanic...i just like investigating/researching on the subject before hand to have at least some knowledge when going to the dealer, for example. So they dont try and pull a fast one on you.
I may have some cleaner at home and will try the spray and revving for curiousity sake, but for sure I will bring it to someone who knows what they're doing
I just wanted to pick your brains and see if Im on the right track on figuring this out

OK. Try at your own risk.
Fwiw. You don't touch the accelerator. The engine will rev by itself if it sucks in the flammable fumes of whatever you're spraying.
Either that or it could go "BOOM". I have seen a couple flash fires created by doing this.
Have a fire extinguisher handy.

small update:
had it looked at by a friend and didnt notice any sounds in person, but was shocked to hear the sound that i recorded earlier. Of course the car behaved normal..isnt that always the case when you get someone to check it.
That whoosh sound is new and he says it sounds normal since the aftermarket CAI will be louder and allow more air through obviously but this sound isnt what it normally makes. Maybe TB needs a cleaning, ill bring it in to my friends shop and try the propane/carb cleaner trick around the intake also for leaks when we get a chance.
Side not - not sure if its maybe my tune also..posted this issue on another website. Sent my tune to someone to try and this is what they found:
"the tune that's on this car is really odd and doesn't seem right to me. Timing on the low octane tables are abnormally high in some spots and the VE values, once converted using bluecat software are considerably higher than stock in places. Even 200% in places. Also the MAF values are lower than stock at all points.
I uploaded the tune to my car and the car barely ran at all, and died when put into gear. I was showing 0-40* of timing at idle while the car surged! The car had a bad delay and wouldn't go worth a damn. Put back my own tune and the car ran just fine."
any ideas?

looks like I found my exhaust leak...small crack in the weld at the resonator.. contacted magnaflow and sending me a complete new cat back unit! Nice!
the slurping sound remains, havent had the chance to check for leaks as suggested.

Ok old-timers: what is one can spray on the intake manifold gaskets to check for leaks? I can't remember what it was that when used for that, would make the engine rev up slightly as it momentarily closed the leak.
Donbrew - does it ring a bell with you young fella?
Skyline mentioned it first heard it after the IM gasket was replaced.
