I have 150 mA draw with the key out of ignition

Where did you measure this? That draw won't kill the battery. Measure current draw directly at the battery. Maybe a bad battery?

I will do all that when I recover from last night.

I appreciate that Gearhead1. tvsteve I measured at the battery between the negative post and the neg. cable with my meter set on 20amp. I thought anything over 50 mA was excessive?

I’m going to have my battery tested in a little while but it’s brand new. Granted it is a auto zone duralast gold? Has anyone had better luck using AGM batteries in their HHR?

Back in post #7, you said that you would have the brand new battery tested, but I don't see in
any of your posts since, that you have done this.

EDIT : I was still making this post while you were also posting.

Wouldn't be the first battery that was bad when purchased.

You should test for a drain on the positive side. Not negative.

Speed Buggy I still haven’t had it tested yet. I’ve got to get out shortly and will have it checked. The thing is this will be the 2nd bad battery from auto zone within a month if it turns out to be bad. I just wonder if I should buy a better battery, that’s why I was asking about AGM batteries in the HHR? Or maybe just go with a better brand? I know I’ve never had a vehicle so sensitive to batteries since this HHR but if I didn’t love the little thing I would have moved on months ago. When she cranks she’s the best car ever. Fun solid little car, no leaks, no rust and just a cool car. I am loyal to a Chevrolet and can’t see giving up on her.

firemangeorge wow, that’s a first. I didn’t think it really mattered, just doing it on neg. because it’s safer in case of shorting something out.

I still think somebody installed some after market stuff somewhere or committed sabotage. Possibly a stuck relay.
Maybe, whoever monkeyed with the blower thought it was wired like a typical motor and grounded the positive side.
I am concerned about having to have the key on to charge the battery.
Pretty sure the door lock/unlock relays on the back of the BCM are not mechanical. They are not serviceable.
