I have an 08 HHR LT. I bought it used and just clicked 108K. I had some noise and bumping and even some squeaking in the winter from the front end.
I have replaced the following: Struts (complete strut kits), sway bar bushings, lower control arms w/ball joints, the control arm stabilizer bars (greasable), hubs and bearings, rotors and brakes. I even put new shocks in the back.
I am still getting a rumbling/bumping noise going over small bumps in the road. Tires are new. I thought this thing should ride like a new car. Does anyone have any idea what it could be? I do not get any noise or vibration from the steering column either. Have I missed something?
Thanks all!

That link covers pretty much every source of suspension noise.

I have an update. After replacing all of the parts I listed above, I still had noise. After a front end alignment, all is well. Drives super smooth, can't feel any rumbling or bumping.
Drives like a new car. Thanks for the input!

Like the little forklift in "Cars" said, it just needed a "Peetstop!" to fix it up.
Glad to hear you found helpful info here, and that it's a happy HHR now.

Cripes, nearly forgot the forklift is called Guido, my 2 1/2 year old son would shoot me for forgetting that, especially after watching Cars about 3 million times.
