Yeah, got that sorry.

that website, they have a horrible policy you have to sign to check out your item. All the info they collect (name, address, credit card), if you put in a request to have them delete that info, they say it will be denied. Oh they will email you why it was denied, but they wont ever delete it. Being in IT, i dont want me CC on their servers, because i dont know how secure they are, if they are patched, and secure, and the same goes for their 3rd party people.

I mention it, because ive never heard of that kind of policy. They tell you to purge your side of things (clearing browser history), but they wont honor your request to have them delete your info! how crazy is that!?!

thats why its always smart to use gift card (re-loadable), so then you only have one point of potential vulnerability (the place -online or in store where you top up your gift card).

Well, i got it ordered. w00t.

thansk so much for your help with this.

once it comes, and I have time, i guess we will see my "mechanically minded" skills! LOL Thanks again, :) DeVoiD :)

Looks pretty slim, you might get lucky.

25867552 Looks to be the same, but also seems to be rare.

Well, i'm not getting lucky. Trying to find them, all i keep getting is that the part has been "discontinued". It's rarer than rocking horse crap!

It does not make any sense, as there are probably a lot of these cars on the road, and parts fail. So, if it breaks, what the heck are you supposed to do? throw away the car, or find some place that can fabricate the part, which would cost a fricken fortune.

In scouring the Internet, i did find a part that looks pretty darn close, but for a Rover 800.

whatcha think?: https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-EDP75...kaAjdXEALw_wcB

I know when this issue first started, the garage couldnt find the part, and just tried to work it enough, so it wouldnt happen so often (Clutch pedal not all the way back), but it did happen again. I put oil in a few places and that made it better for a while. But this is KNOWN and DOCUMENTED issue, so why on earth are there no after market parts? why isnt Chevy (at the very least) still making the parts!? crazy!

Anyway, in three hours of searching, the above link was the only thing ive come up with, but no idea if it will fit. It looks right, dont you think?

Thanks, DeVoiD.

The car and parts are pre bankruptcy GM. A lot of those vehicles are now facing discontinued parts situations, the last HHR rolled off the assembly line in May of 2011, the SS model a year before that. A decade ago, the idea is you use the car, and in 3 to 5 years trade it in . GM didn’t realize, we love or trucklets and are still driving them all these years later.
perhaps take a look at Saab , Opel and other European GM cars , they might have the same parts only different part numbers.

Love the term, "trucklets"... lol.

Pre-bankruptcy? as in now? I know they havent made them in many years, but that no one is stepping up and making parts seems really strange. Thats a pretty huge market i would have thought, Just like how Mexico built and opened a huge plant to make VW Beetle parts, I would have though some place would be making parts for the HHR's.

What do you think of these items (this is in the UK):

https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-EDP7510UPGRADE

https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-EDP7510L

https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-EDP7510LBPK

Of course, the bigger question about the parts shown in the links above, is will they fit? and i have no idea how to figure that out, without buying one of each and looking at it, which is going to be very costly.

I wonder if its just the wear of that hook looking part (on the clutch pedal side) thats causing the issue?! In this thread, i was told by RJ_RS_SS_350 to check the "how to" part of these forum posts, and saw this:

https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/how-...dal-arm-55769/

I should have asked RJ_RS_SS_350 if taking the spring off and then back on is very difficult, and if there is a trick to it.

But i wonder if that will help with this.

Of course though, I'm more worried about if that spring ever breaks, that ill be just screwed. Like you said, i could check on those European cars, but ill have the same issue as with those UK links above, ill have no way of knowing if they will fit or not.

Thoughts anyone?

Quick addition.

on that first link: https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-EDP7510UPGRADE

it says this:

"If the clutch pedal arm is a flat sheet of steel in terms of profile - IT FITS!
If the clutch pedal arm is a U shaped formed steel profile, unfortunately it wont fit, "

The pedal arm,; im not sure what that is, is the the hook like part on the back of the clutch pedal? but if it is, i guess that wont fit.

is this it?:

I really need to get in Harry, and look at the spring again. I thought i knew what it looked like, and my memory is telling me, it looks exactly like the one in the above link, now im not so sure. I drove in myself this morning, and my wife is at home today, so ill have to check him out when i get home later tonight.

Thanks, DeVoiD.
