2006 Spring edition HHR bought new in April 06 now has 28K.
Been to service twice for wind noise audible from the front of the sunroof area. The noise is noticeable even at town speeds. Noise reduces when the sunroof cover is closed and I have even removed the antenna thinking that might be the cause of the howl. No water leaks are evident.
Has anyone else experienced this wind noise?? Dealer says nothing in system about it.
At highway speeds the noise is loud enough to require turning up the volume on the radio! I'm wondering if the sound might be coming from the cowl area and echoing up the windshield pillar openings???
Only other problem in 2 years has been brake pedal bounce from pad/rotor on front disks. Had rotors trued at 15K and they're starting to bounce again..
Lot of in-town stop & go delivery as HHR is used for business....

 

I have it, I thought mine was from the top of the drivers door.

 

I have it as well, especially if the rear window(s) is down. Sounds like a helicopter. I think it has something to do with the design. My daughter has an H3 Hummer and it does it too.

 

My '08 2LT has horrible wind noise from the closed moon roof. At freeway speeds when it's the worst, reach up and pull down on the front lip of the moon roof and see if it goeas away. Mine does. There must be an adjustment somewhere to tighten the window up...

...I'm raising this from the dead in hopes that someone has dealt with this sunroof (moonroof?) issue. No water leakage, just wind noise. It's actually quieter if I raise the rear of the sunroof a little!

2010 SS with sunroof (option NSY - Noisy)

 

I don't know for sure, but I think there is a TSB or 2 re moonroof/sunroof noise.
