Won't start this morning
When I went out the door, I pressed the unlock button on the fob and nothing. Hmmm. The doors had been unlocked all night so I got in and she won't start. The fan and radio come on. The headlights are bright. The wipers work. The windows work, but not the locks or the sun roof. I tried Jumping, and same story. I can't get the shifter out of park to test that switch. There is no security lock light on the dash when the key is on. Same story with my wife's key. The unlock button on the keyfob only lights up the dash lights. It's weird.
I called 1-800-chev-usa and a (no charge) tow is coming in a couple hours. At least it's not February.

I looked all around for that kind of stuff, but to no avail. I have a recall letter sitting on my desk that said something about the key switch going bad somehow and causing some problem or another. I didn't really pay much attention to it. Maybe I should have. I suppose the tow truck driver is going to have to drag it up on there. Grrrr.

Jeff, I hope things will go smoothly with the dealership and getting this resolved and the HHR back to you quickly. Please, let me know how things turn out.

I picked up the car Friday and whipped out the plastic to pay for it. When I started it, the Alarm started beeping and the DIC was ranting errors... "service traction" "service esc" "esc off" yada yada.
I had to drive 70mi to a high school football game, so I couldn't run back in. I called the service dept as I was leaving and told them about it. "Uh... gee whiz, the technician test drove it..." (my arse, no competent mechanic could have driven it and not noticed all the nagging). Anyway, we agreed I'd bring it back Monday afternoon.
Monday afternoon...
"Uh, the BCM has nothing to do with the traction control... Your car starts now, right?" Oooh boy, here it comes...
Being that I am competent and observant, I suggested that their contracted tow service guy had "disconnected the transmission" and maybe he lostened a wire. "Ya, yah. we'll look at it..."
A couple hours later, my car comes back, and I'm told that a wire connector from the traction control was loose and he just pushed it back in til it clicked.
I got in and drove home.
