Wooly Worm Hose?

My intake duct is unraveling!!I have seen it called the wooly worm hose here a few times, it's that duct from the wheel well to the intake.
Dealer only part and they want $82. Money is tight and I'm hoping someone here has some advice. Is there an alternative hose I can use? The stock one seems like it can actually "breathe" seeing that it appears to be wool??

I took mine out. Haven't seen any difference in mpg, temperature, performance or filter life. Does sound cool tho:)

Mine ripped a long time ago. I just wound it back up and slapped it on there. No problems.

Tape repair comes to mind.... look like cr@p though. I wouldn't run without, myself, too much hot air. You could get one of the Spectra flexible intake ducts and form that to fit.... Cheaper than dealer by a long shot and meant to take underhood temps. Check PepBoys, Advance, or online..... They come in several colors and should work great.
