Im just afraid of the potential damage to the TC or tranny.
mine is a weird situation, but it all seems related.
my fluctuation spans from 25mph (whether using or not using cruise) up to 60, at 61mph, it stops doing this. BUT, occasionally (actually, twice now) it has happened at 65mph, and that tells me its getting worse. when I bought the car several months ago, it was only happening in the 25-30 mph range.

so I guess it is highly possible my TC is bad, but still no codes showing, wouldnt that show at least some form of code ?

I believe its a sealed tranny with no way checking fluid outside of a flush, which I will do soon after my mechanic takes a look at it again to see if he can determine if its the TC or trans going bad .

no oil on the ground anywhere under it though, so if it was leaking, not sure where the oil is going.

Not really a "sealed" tranny. There is a plug to check the fluid level and a port on top to add fluid.

Check when hot, level, engine running, in park or neutral.

sorry, havent been on in a few days, I had a thought
my brother in law bought a chevy 1500 and he had the exact same issue with the trans. he put larger tires on it and the issues went away. (previous tires were something like 255 60 16, he put 245 70 16)
has anyone tried this yet ?

Ok, my turn. This is my 1st reply, and I am experiencing surging or hunting as described above, exc worse. Had it to a dealer, they couldnt find anything because there were no codes. Still no codes. Been living with this for a couple years and is getting worse. I thought I would do some hunting before a big tear down. Anyway, ours is a '11 w 2.2. Bought the car w 80k, now 130k. Been gradually getting worse, tach jumping 400 or so RPM - but only does this warm. Cold. it does ok. I thought it was dropping a cylinder, so new plugs, etc, but the more I have studied this, I think the trans is shifting in & out, or lock up. Does it in the higher gears. Cant shut off overdrive (or at least I havent found the button to shut off), so may be the converter in and out. It does it under acceleration usually in the 40 mph - 60 mph range. Was looking diagram on trans plug so I could monitor voltages and see what was going on when I found this. Yes, we drive like we have an egg between our foot and the accelerator.

So, it is my understanding that this may be a computer glitch? So, does disconnecting the battery cables really work, or is this a dealer re-flash only repair?

Thanks all!
