Autocrossing my 06 HHR LS

I'm a board member of the Delta Region of the SCCA and this season I decided to Autocross my HHR LS just to see how it competes with other cars in raw times.

My 06 has a few mods
  • K&N filter in the stock air box
  • 17" factory wheels from an LT with Hankook ventus v12 235-45/17 alittle tight on the wheel but they work.
  • Turbo Shop rear bar.
  • Monroe struts up front
  • KYB shocks rear
  • Colbalt SS rear spring

There were 61 entries at Jan event and I finished 47th ahead of 14 other cars

A nice showing against some "real" autocross cars, bet you got a few dirty looks from the Honda folks.

Honestly, I'd pay to see that '72 Coronet hustle through, or over the cones.

The Coronet just reeks of awesome. Who cares if it doesn't win anything... it's the one everyone's gonna remember, along with that freaky little wagon-thing you brought to the party.

Here's an update on all the HHR's "Window of Slow"

After each event everyone will check the raw times to see if they ran faster or slower than me!
I upgraded the shocks to a full set of Koni's... it made a big difference in the way the HHR handles.
I also finally wore out the Hankooks V12's 235/45-17 at the last event. I'm running Continental DW in 225/50-17 now.

I am giving the drivers that made it on the window a chance for redemption. If they run faster than me at any event i will remove their cone.

That's why there are gaps in the photo.

Nice. Took mine autocrossing a few weeks back, Along with 4 SS'. The three tuned ones were between 2-3 seconds ahead of me, The untuned auto was less than .09 ahead, but he hit a cone, so I technically beat him. I knew it would be fun, but I had know idea how much.
