Read my Lips: Unless you go off at the dragstrip or a track, is inmature and is a danger to the general public. I am guilty myself at times, on being inmature, and ripping one off on the street, but try to keep it reasonably safe.
On the street, maybe the other person did'nt feel like getting a ticket, jail time, or higher insurance rates, so on the street does'nt prove jack.
At this time, I would like to throw down the guantlet to any Nor-cal guys, to meet me at any of the "Goodguys" car show Autocross's in Pleasanton[next one OCT.],and test their skill on the track, and against my times. Loser buys dinner that night, and gets verbally abused. Any hot shoes want to take me up on it? "Moon"
Preaching to the choir here. I offered to visit a Sac Raceway test and tune night with the Mazda guy and try to get a serious comparison. Anyway, I'm a racing n00b, never done it. For the auto-x, do I have to use an HHR to get the dinner deal? Is there anywhere I can practice for auto-x? Perhaps you'd like to come up and educate me on the drag strip in exchange for lunch.

My offer was for a HHR, or HHR-SS for the Autocross.
The offer for some drag time sounds good at Sonoma, Saco a little too far of a drive, just to play. Been a few years since I clicked off a 1/4 mile run. Oh, did I mention that I have over fifty years experience at the strip, so I'm no newie. Stats a little long to put up on here, and some would think I was pulling their leg, anyway.
Shoot me a PM, with your number, and we'll talk. "Moon"

Sorry, SS fan. The Autocross is in Pleasanton, Calif.. I happen to work the show[actually use the excuse, to run the autocross, since I know the CEO very well anyway], so I run the SS three times a year. I'm usually the only 4 cylinder car there, against all the V8 Mareo's and Stangs, Ect. Spank a lot of them.
Putting coilovers on and a bigger tire, then we can play harder. "Moon"

Moon, its too late now for me in the year, but this autocross thingy seems like a good meet/roadtrip for next year. But maybe not, as I am really gonna try and make the open road challenge in Nebraska in early August. I don't even know what class the SS would be there, but I gotta do it. Closest ill ever get to the Autobahn.

I forgot the name of the town.

But they block off a 55 mile stretch of country road. No speed limit!
Pluss they have a closed course loop, again street roads.

Also, a half mile, one mile, and two mile challenge. Again no speed limit.

There are five vehicle classes, which is determined by a Friday tech check, driver meeting, safety inspection. They tell you your class, by dozens of qualifiers.

This is not cheap either, think a grand for entry into all events, hotel, food, partying.
just the open challenge is 350 I think.

The "Goodguys" car show, runs the autocross, at selected events across the country.
Just google" Goodguys" to get their show locations, dates ect., and see if they are running the autocross in your area.
If you enter your car, then you can run the autocross.
It's a real hoot, and a lot of fun. "Moon"

Yeah, entertainment at its best. For a second there I thought the troll had reappeared. Still can't figure out why this Guy showed up in the first place. to tag a year old thread.
