Unfortunately, that Mustang is a 4cyl.

 

If it's a 2.3 turbo Mustang it's nothing to scoff at...they can be very fast!

I've often argued that the HHR SS is fast enough to beat most V8 Mustangs out there or at least hold it's own.

I'm not real surprised. Even the 5l Mustangs of that era weren't all that fast unless you put some serious money into the trans and under the hood. I knew a guy with a 5l Mustang (not the GT) and I could beat him with my '92 GMC Safari.

 

Slow-stangs , have never been a problem....

9 second Cavaliers , are a problem...
I ran a 12.77 on this run , & the Cavalier ran a 9.07

 

Oh I know that. I had a couple turbo charged 2.3 Mustangs. One 85 SVO, a 84 gt, and a 79 Capri. I have also had four 5.0 mustangs. 80, 85, 88, and an 90 that was turbocharged. It ran low 12s high 11s. It was the only car I had that was street driven that could pull the front tire off the ground.
