I went to the 1/4 my first time last week and my best time was only 15.0 sec with the the stage 1. I'm finding I'm having a hard time launching when I have to go when the green goes. I get overcome by my nerves and I react badly with my clutch. generally my launches are fine when I'm just doing it for kicks and I just go when I'm ready, but I need a lot more practice on the track and I can't go for another month .

Ive been to the track quite a bit latley and 12.5 is bad fast , 1.7 60 is gettin it and more hp isnt going to get you a quicker 60 time , unless you have drag spefic tires 1.7s seem too fast , my best is 2.3 to get under 2.0 I think the clutch and the tranny would have to be modified, if the rest of us are running 15 flats with 290 hp 2 1/2 seconds under that would be atleast 100 hp more than our 290 imho. I wish I had a scanner I have several time slips and they arent that impressive thay are all done with the gmhpp stage kit and my best is 14.6 at 100 mph, but most are 15 flat at 97mph

typically, no timeslip=never happened. Until you post up the 12 second timeslip then I doubt anyone is going to believe you. Especially running a 1.7 on street tires with a fwd lol. I have hit 1.79's on street tires with my rwd but that is a rare event. The best i have done with a fwd on street tires was a 1.92 and that was with great track prep and traction bars on the car.

Agreed! 1.7 60 fts were hard for me with my Z28 pushing 430RWHP and M/T's with a 3900 stall.. I don't see it with street tires.

My best 60ft with my Stage 1 AT SS is a 2.2, 1.7 seems way too fast.

You mean 60ft time. R/T doesn't have anything to do with 1/4 mile time. You can sit there for 30 minutes and finally hit the gas and hit a 10 second run :)

But I agree, no 60 ft time could be that low on a FWD car with 18 inch street tires. no matter how much VHT they put down on the track.

hell that is a feat on drag radials for most fwd cars let alone street tires.

if hankook came up with some street tires capible of 1.7's on a fwd car then sign me up. I am a big fan of that brand but wow
