Cool My Stock HHR's SS 1/4 mile ET's

Well the track was a mess and I suck at stick. <--- Noob. I've never driven a stick at a track nor have I driven a 4 banger at the track. I do need Slicks to get traction. It was warm out as well.
1st Run: 2.46 60ft, 1/4 mile 15.04 @ 92.8 mph
2nd Run: 2.58 60 ft, 1/4 mile 15.2 @ 98.96 mph
3rd Run: 2.60 60ft , 1/4 mile 15.2 @ 99.04 mph

Slicks might help.....but can you explain how you are shifting?

gas
release gas
pause
clutch
shift
release clutch
pause
gas

Something like that?

I'm sure there was some nervousness involved...? No shame in that.

I say you'd have to slip the clutch and launch at a higher RPM. If you drop the clutch, you'll just spin....

Although slipping the clutch is NOT recommended!

I had to slip the clutch in my mazdaspeed6 in order to get the best launch. A 4k drop was too harsh IMHO on a car that I loved.

Practice makes perfect!

I have a harlan shift light for $40 if you want it

I don't think those are bad times for a bone stock car, but it's easy to see where there's room for improvement. Tuned guys are running low 14's, so your times aren't too far off. You should be able to get a few tenths out of a better 60' on those tires and break into the 14's with a little practice, based on the other times I've seen on this forums.

Launch control? NLS?

The track was horrible and slick. I was spinning in the 2nd as well. I will be going to the track on Wed nights when it's cooler as well and get a set of tires.

Was very weird driving Stick at the track LOL

1st run I did miss 3rd with the no lift shift. I turned that off and ran better mph.

practice makes perfect! Thanks for posting, nice to see some guys are posting some times at the track. Makes it nice to compare. I would agree, you be able to get into 14's easy with practice. Keep us updated!

10.1 seconds. I'm going to go at the night races where it.s cooler and the traacks are preped bettter as well. I wasn't the only one having a horrible time. Vettes, Vipers, Camaro Clubs and Exotics were also have terrible runs. 3 people almost lost control and crashed. More VHT please.
