It was a 73 L the dealer had to register it as an 72 has it would not pass smog so I told the dealer call it anything, I had all the smog stuff off installed a Hays distributor mod installed new headers, had the mag wheels polished they looked like chrome as the wheels Companela Magnesium not aluminum, loved the car got to drive on the Ontario, Calif. Indy just before the race was doing 135 for 2 laps.

It does. I do that probably every day I drive... Go ahead and barry the needle.
What about the gas gauge? It went down a bit... do that on a V-8 and then you'll see some major droppage.

I have drove my HHR at 80 mph. have no need to go faster, I gave up going fast now that I have gained some years, when I had the Pantera was trying to make from L.A to Phonex< Arizona in 3 hours most of the time was between 148 and 155mph got a ticket as the Arizona hwy. patrol was chaseing me for 45 minutes I didnt know it he said he was at 125 the whole time.
His Pantera was featured in Mustang Illustrated Magazine....bad azzz car

There's an open stretch of highway nearby, 4 lanes, all straight between two exits a few miles apart, divided with a barrier, so you can see clearly for miles. Hit it saturday morning when it was pretty empty. I'm using the "Speed" app from the Amazon Appstore on my Android, it's GPS based, and I've been testing it; it's generally within 1-2mph of my speedo, so I'd rate it as good enough.
Anywho, hit 154 and held it there for about 1 minute. It bounced down to 149 a couple of times for a second and then right back up. Helluva rush.
I can confirm that the speedo just stops at 140, doesn't go past that.

Not to say non ss r kinda slow, but mines seen 120ish. Hard to guess cause the needle takes up 5mph lol. It usually does it easy on meet nights. Evos/actually stangs dust me but im normally near middle of the cannonball run:)

I really can believe that they will go 150 plus like the manual transmissions.
Not sure what the final drive ratio etc is.
That brings up another ? My build sheet I believe has a code for the gear ratio that was ordered.
I assume all auto ss,s have the same gear ratio.
At 65 I turn about 2000 rpm my 2lt was turning 2500
