Advertising on posts when not logged in

Is there something wrong with my copy of Firefox or is advertising ridiculous when not logged in. I post links to some of my threads on FB but I always used IE. I've been using Firefox lately and just looked at my posts in it (not logged in). Is the forum pathetically money starved enough to splatter doubleclick ads all over everything or is my Firefox compromised?

Thanks

We're not "money starved" but our parent company Internet Brands is a "for profit" concern so selling ad space here is a legitimate source of income.

Some browsers are better than others at stomping down pop-up ads, but the surefire way to avoid the majority of the double-click ads is to Log In.

Advertising is a part of doing business, and the income derived allows us to provide things like prize packages for contest winners, and in the purest sense...it allows us to keep the lights on.

Do you have Firefox set to block popups and ads? AdBlockPlus may help. I always log in, though.

I have noticed that ads show up on my phone in Firefox even when I'm logged in. It hasn't bothered me enough to investigate (I have unlimited data). I think that I may have allowed them by accidentally touching the screen.
