I'd like to suggest a small change in forumdisplay.php. For each thread, could you add the first post date and time under the thread title, next to the author's name? This would let the users tell the difference between new, hot topics and old, possibly long-dead topics. I've noticed old topics sometimes get new posts, possibly because the new poster isn't fully aware of the thread's age. Regardless, a new post on an old thread bumps it to the top of the forum, and while it may be interesting, much of the time there's not much worth contributing.

 

Great idea. I do that sometimes and post on an old topic.
