I got on ok, but was typing a response to you Sindy, hit send & got the Internal Server Error message.. This was just 5 minutes ago..

And fwiw: I just logged out & signed back in no problem.. In fact I tried it twice.. So far so good.

So with fingers crossed, I hope things run smoother, thanks Sindy..

Earlier tonight my wife wanted to watch all the episodes of Dancing With the Stars that she had missed so far this season so,… I wobbled down the hall to the bedroom and got on the old computer.

I spent the better part of an hour getting the site to admit that I had a user name and password.

I kept getting a screen thanking me for logging in and that I should ‘click here’ if my browser did not automatically redirect me to the proper place.

Finally I did get on and stayed a while answered the PM that was sent to me 5 times and read other threads for some time.

With the recent site problems I was not particularly surprised that it took more than one attempt to get on.

All I have is time these days so I split it between a ham radio site and here.

Friday looks to be a decent day out so I plan to put the tie rod ends on the HHR to see if that will take the wobble out of my front driver side wheel when I put the brakes on.

There's still some buggy stuff going on that has nothing to do with signing in..... I will get the server error or database error or just "hang" going from one unread post to another. Truthfully I never had problems "logging in" per say, I've two systems here that I use and both are "logged in forever" on this site..... But going from post to post can sometimes cause that "hang" issue, and several times I would come to the site and get the server error even though I didn't need to log in, the site was going through fits.

Not a computer expert here but I never have to log in. I just don't log off and when I come back I'm already logged in. So if I should log off please tell me so, and if so any reasons why. Like I said, no expert, so I would hate to be doing it wrong. Thanks, George.

It's going to come down to your situation.....

If you live alone or nobody has access to your computer then you don't need to log off.

If you use a public computer (or workplace computer) then you should always log off when you leave the forum.

If it's a family computer then it's up to trust.... if you know nobody in your family will log on as you and make posts as you, then there's no need to log off. But if your "16 year old son" gets pissed at you, comes here and makes inappropriate posts and gets you banned........ Well, then I guess you should have but it's to late now......

Site is acting up bad right now..... I've tried to post this response for 30 minutes so far...... "server error" or "server to busy" errors.
