This is my first post here. I just picked up my new 06 daytona blue hhr ls yesterday. I would like to know if the ls w/o pioneer stereo has a external stereo amp, or if the amp is in the stock deck. Also, which wiring harness have you guys had good luck with installing an aftermarket cd player?

I believe only the seven speaker pioneer system has an external amp but I'm not 100% sure.

 

2nd question, how would i hook an aftermarket amp up to the existing factory location speaker wires?

 

As much trouble and as little real difference it will make, you may wanna go ahead and change out the HU if you're gonna do all that work.
