Didn't see as much as a Kitty cat the whole way down till we crossed the NC line. Then within a mile there were 3-4 deer looking for trouble. We just got here. He's stabilized but they're keeping him sedated for now. We're all set for accommodations. Thanks for the well wishes everyone. BTW - if I never drive through NYC again it'll be too soon. We'll take our sweet-ass time back up the Blue Ridge Parkway and Delaware Water Gap to Rt. 84 etc...

He's an epileptic and went off his meds a few weeks ago. Dur.
He had a grand mal seizure while he was driving.
He didn't get any injury from the car wreck but he took a few days to recover from the seizure.
He was pretty sketchy for a few days but he made a full recovery.

We left NC at about 11AM yesterday.
We went up through Martinsville and Dansville to The Blue Ridge Parkway at Meadows Of Dan.
We took our sweet ass time but were running late so drove down to Interstate 81 through North Roanoke.
It's always a beautiful drive (and fun with a leadfoot like me).
I need to go back in late May/Early June when all those giant rhododendron are blooming.
I saw a couple of mean looking dogs chomping on deer roadkill and a bazillion other deer playing, squashed and everything between.
We just got back.

Yes at 5:30 in the morning.
What a longggggggggggg drive.

I'll post a few scenic shots later.

Nice to hear that he will be OK.
I've been on numerous calls over the years for seizure patients. It seems like the majority are because the patient is off his/her meds. We usually ask why and get one of 3 answers. "I forgot". " I can't afford them". " I don't like the way they make me feel".
If the doctor prescribes meds for seizures, you need to take them.

That is Great News! Glad you made it home safe. A good friend of our's son was a student in Chapel Hill. His girlfriend hit a deer at about 80 on the interstate. They both died a few days later. Glad to hear you didn't hit one, according to our friends, people hit them alot up there.

Great news Mowgli!

Glad you're home safe and sound, you have to come back down next spring to see Carolina in bloom.

Yes its "Bambi Season" here, there are certain hours when they seem to hurl themselves in front of anything that moves.
