GATLINBURG G2G: Saturday Plans

Tail of the Dragon
This is an 11 mile stretch of Hwy 129 that begins just a short drive away from Gatlinburg. This stretch consists of 318 curves in the 11 mile stretch -- including Copperhead Corner, Hog Pen Bend, Wheelie Hell, Killboy Corner, Gravity Cavity, and more. This is said to be an exceptionally scenic drive, and a favorite spot for motorcycle and automotive groups from all over the country. Professional photographers set up at strategic locations along the route to snap photos of these groups as they navigate the curves. Like river rafting trips, these photos are available at the end of the stretch for those that wish to purchase them. There are pull outs and scenic overlooks along the route.

Check out this link for more information and pics: http://www.tailofthedragon.com/dragon.html

We'll meet at a predetermined location at the beginning of the Tail, then make the trek. We'll meet up again at the end for a rest, pictures, etc., then head back to Gatlinburg.

Saturday Night: Dinner and a Show at Dolly's Dixie Stampede. Lot's of food and a good show. People I've spoken to who have gone to this say it's a great evening of entertainment, the food is good and they are great at accommodating groups.

Group Dinner

Dolly's Dixie Stampede

6:00 p.m. - dinner and show

Group rate of $36.01 per person including tax and gratuity
(Regular rate is $43.99 plus tax and gratuity)

I will need confirmation from each person who wishes to attend. I must provide an initial headcount next week, and a final headcount one week prior to the event.

What they say about themselves:
"We at the Dixie Stampede can create a memory for your group that is second to none. The excitement of our friendly competition between the North and the South, along with our 32 magnificent horses and world-famous racing ostriches will keep your group on the edge of their seats. Brand new for 2008, Dixie Stampede presents an exciting new overture that is sure to thrill both new and returning guests. "Journey West" features a thunderous stampede of longhorn steer, cowboys and a wagon train full of hopeful settlers with a dream of freedom. Beautiful southern belles and their gallant heroes take you back to a time long forgotten. Dixie Stampede is complete with music, dancing, side-splitting comedy, and a patriotic finale that will move you to your feet. You get all of this fun plus a delicious four-course meal."
