Unhappy 2nd repair in as many Months

Saturday Morning on the way to the east county, passing by a road crew when I hear a loud "THWACK" . When I arrived at my destination I see a divot, with the center a bit powdery from the impact. The next morning - probably because of the temp change, that divot progressed to a 12 inch crack. Yesterday had the mobile windshield replacment replace the glass.
This morning I 'm slapping my palm against my head - should've asked for one with the tint band....oh well, at least the Toy's still rolling.

First the water leak, now this , what next?

Grumpee,

The list of possibilities is long these things are man made, since none of us are perfect, only the Good Lord knows for sure. Perhaps you have already done all that is required for this year, or even two !!!

One away from my record GRUMPEE, three windshields in two months. It was rock, rock, and bird in that order. The Safelite people thought I was cursed that summer, but they did get a lot of practice dealing with Corvair glass.

Sorry, D!
But at least you can say the windshield crack was an "Act of God' as opposed to wear and tear of a 5 year old car ...

No consolation, but still ...

That's terrible!! Boy I bet your heart sank when you heard that noise!! But you sure got it taken care of quickly.

Okay everyone, Todd really needs to know:

1. when you can make a burger run soon to discuss the next G2G.
2. your booked up days in March. Do it NOW so he can get things in motion.

GRUMPEE-

that's a bummer. But on the bright side, aftermarket glass seems to be of a stronger quality. Factory glass gets tiny nics in it easily. Softer for Safety, I have read. (eyes roll)..

I'm glad I had to have mine changed as I was buying it, didn't cost me & I got the tint band.

Hopefully you are good to go for a long while now !!

Replaced both car windshields at the same time last year...out ofpocket($235 ea)....umm, the new glass is just as soft as factory, think they do it to sell more. My SS is already pitted, really noticable in the sun.
