I totally agree here! I've had a chance to drive up to NorCal and to San Diego. Even driving the Grapevine is fun.

As Dianah says, traffic is easier to handle when you are in the HHR. I pop open the sunroof, set the 'toons, and just have at it. I purposely look for the longer and/or most scenic ways to get home just so I can drive!

Nope, never a bad cruising day in CA.

In California there's at least 3 GREAT cruises. Placerville down hiway 49 thru Cool, Sutters Creek, Jackson and end up in Sonora, San Francisco north side of the Golden Gate down hiway one to Solvang, Hiway 1 north of San Francisco up to the Redwoods and cruising the different redwood forests along the way, stop in Cresent City etcs.
JUST NEED THE DOUGH AND THE TIME OFF. IF A 3 OR 4 DAYS G2G CRUISE WERE TO BE PLANNED PLEAS MAKE IT AFTER MARCH 2010 AND I CAN TAKE VACATION TIME OFF.

NEXT YEAR I HOPE TO BE AT A LOT MORE G2G'S
so ya all plan on

I just registered Harvey here in Naveda, great US flag / eagle plates with 1 HHR for the letters.

See ya down the road

Tim(aka TEB-HHR) is already talking 'bout the hwy 49 deal and I really hope it gets (HUGE) support. If an AMERICRUISE type run gets put together I'm sure it'd be next spring or later.I started this thread to see if there was any interest in a multi-day cruise and also where people might want to head to.Thanks for your interest Bud

The Grapvine was the pits when we drove through going up North prefer the coast. Beautiful. But all of California has its scenery no matter where you go.

I agree, Many years ago I picked up my aunt (she was 70 and lived in Chicago and had never been to California before) in Los Angeles. I asked her if we had extra time to get back to Gilroy. She agreed. So we drove Hwy 1 from Santa Monica to Watsonville then over Hwy 152 to Gilroy. Needless to say she was amazed and so was I. The Pacific Coast Hwy is just so beautiful

I lived in the bay area for 12 years and drove the 'vine more then you all ever will in this lifetime (be glad!)--it is the BORINGEST stretch of highway known to man.

So yes, I agree the 101/1 is awesome, but it added 2 hours to my drive back to Berkeley.

I was referring to the fact that even driving the 'vine is palatable in the HHR.
