The hotel was formerly a Batchelors Hotel, built in the 1870's, and has been
converted into condos.. Location is perfert. Walk accross the street to the edge of the Quarter, or ride the streetcar, or drive 1.5 miles and hit the fwy for points further out.
Since Mardi Gras dates change every year, we usually hit it right every 2-3 years. We can trade weeks, if we want to. The downtown, night time parades, usually involve the drunker members of parade watchers, so we limit ourselves to daytime parades in the city. We goto the night parades out in the burbs where the family lives. I have had my share of that scene.
But...the amazing food is everywhere. I make sure to visit family between meals...LOL
Todd, we own 2 units in the same week..a 1 and 2 bedroom condo. Most years, the 1 bedroom goes empty. "Food" for thought.

OK, so I screwed up again, Vince is actually Victor--he's the gentlemen who came in the awesome black panel with the installed back seat and cool grill. He sent me an email to post--I assume some of you had asked about this so I am posting his email for those interested:
This is Robbie & Victor the cruise crashers from last Saturday. We are still waiting to be activated on the forum. We would like to thank everyone for the warm welcome and kind words, and hope to meet up again. The dash cover came from Karen Slane of KS covers (951) 277-0303, I paid $30.00 at the Long Beach Automobile Hi-Performance swap meet (second Sunday of every month @ Veterans Stadium).
Victor
He's awaiting forum approval, he'll be: vtfb68 on here.
OK, back to work

Wow, it isn't me!
I thought it was Victor instead of Vince, but figured I was having a senior moment.
Of course, it usually takes me 3 g2g's to remember someone's name.
It was nice to meet Victor and his wife with their beautiful panel. I am happy we lured him to sign up for the forum and change his lurking ways.
