Sorry I haven't been getting back to everyone, but my hard drive died and my computer had to go to a fix it shop...I am so lonely without it! I will meet whoever at the Modesto site and from there we will meet everyone at the 41/154 crossing. Fred said he will not be able to make it as something came up so I am not sure if we are meeting anyone else in Oakhurst?? I will leave that up to Karl.

 

Do we have a head count yet?

Randy and Maddy almost missed the bus but were able to jump in at the last second to grab the tail end of the line just as we left the parking lot at Modesto. Glad they were able to make it! That made 6 HHR's on the road out of Modesto to meet up with Karl's group at the 41/145 crossing. 11 cars left to head to Yosemite. At Bridalvail Falls, which was absolutely beautiful, what most people didn't realize, as I pulled off the road and was waiting for some of the HHR's to catch up, I looked to the left and there was a big brown bear popping it's head up out of the tall growth by the river about 15 feet from my car!!!........He had a blue tag on his ear and looked thin so I figured he had not been out of hibernation very long but it suprised me that there were all these people and cars not very far from him and he really seemed like all he wanted to do was hide from them. I wanted to get a picture but he ducked back down before I could. The day was crazy and we never could find room enough for everyone to actually get together to take group pictures or plan where we could gather so I decided we should just make the most of the beautiful day and sites and do what we could. I will post the pictures in the Gallery under Yosemite11 as I have never figured out how to get pictures in here.

I also wanted to announce at the gathering that this was my last road trip....I am retiring soon and will be moving to Florida. I have enjoyed the HHR group very much and would have enjoyed more being able to spend the last time talking with everyone more but that is how life goes sometimes. I wish everyone well and may the future trips be spectacular!
