I have always been nice to them even on the day that my hhr left me on the the side of the road just after I left the dealership for the same reason. They got me me a car and was as accomidating as could be just because I didn't act as if my world had ended. My tech is also a friend now because we are both car guys and he told me if I ever need my aftermarket parts installed he would love to do it.

Another thought about the import fans. If life was so good before the hhr why did you leave? I know why, it takes $10,000 to go 12.0 in the quarter. If you are really that disappointed with the car you could lemon law it, burn it, or trade it. That's my 2 cents.
That's not always the case. I'm always nice when I talk to the service advisors and everyone at the dealership. I drop off my keys, tell em whats wrong, chit chat a bit, smile, and just sit and wait in the waiting room.

The dealership I originally brought my car to diagnosed the problem and then told me they couldn't get the part, which is the Bosch sensor from the Stage kit. They didn't want to order a new stage kit to get one sensor, despite it being warranty work and then they told me the parts were unavailable.

I brought it to another dealership and it was taken care of and the part that was unavailable was magically overnighted from Michigan to the second dealer I brought it to. The sad thing is, the original dealer I brought it to (Sunset Chevrolet in Sumner) is one of like two GM Performance dealerships in the area, whereas the one that fixed my problem was just a family owned Chevy dealership (Burien Chevrolet).

With that said, due to that one sour dealership experience, this will be the last GM product I ever buy. I used to be a loyal GM fan, but after buying my first new car and getting dicked around by the dealership, I'm done with them.

Sounds to me like it a issue with the first dealership and not GM. All the other dealer did was order the upgrade kit and take the sensor out GM will warranty the entire kit since the sensors are part of a kit and not sold separately.

Yes, but the dealership also represents GM, and therefore still GM's problem.

No. Still is a dealership problem Each dealership is Independently owned GM has no control on how the dealership runs and treat customers.

The dealership is ABSOLUTELY a representative of the GM logo, and as such, GM has every interest in ensuring their (independent) dealers behave as they should. Back in the "good ole' days," if a dealership acted up, it lost incentives on its floor plan. If they acted up badly, they lost the dealership franchise altogether. Today, while GM is slashing dealerships left and right, it appears (anecdotally) that they're targeting dealers that don't sell enough GM product... regardless of whether they behave properly with customers. Having said that, being a dealer that pushes lots of iron is often synonymous with being good to customers.

Yes dealers do represent GM. But one idiot at a dealership that could careless about the guys problem did not take care of the issue like they should have per GM but the other dealership what is expected and took care of the problem I just don't see how this this GM's problem just stay away from the dealer's that act this way. I guess all I'm saying is don't blame GM for a dealerships mistake for not understanding what they need to do to take care of customers.

Edit: Sorry got off topic. I'm done.

I have an '08 with about 14ki mi, but sorry, I can't think of any issues that I have had with the 2.0L. Outside of the engine compartment is another story. I am experiencing a rattle in the passenger side center console near the fuse panel access. I addressed it yesterday by deburring the edges that contact each other. Hope it takes.

This is THE problem that I have had with my SS since I bought it.

There are two issues here. One is a 2.0 sensor issue and one a bad dealer.

I for wone can't say a thing bad about the 2.0 I did have a couple small issues with the car after the crash and the install of the stage kit. The dealer went over and above to fix the issue that were not GM, dealer or 2.0 related.

As for GM cracking down on dealers it is not that easy. With FTC and other issues at hand to protect franchises it is near impossible to get rid of a dealer as in the past. With just the legal cost alone it is cheaper to keep them at times. This is why GM for part of the reason us using the Chapter 11 to lose dealers. Many of these were problem dealer on top of slow dealers. The goverment is for the most looking the other way right now and GM is using it to their advantage.

Anyway to get back on topic the 2.0 and other Ecotechs have proven to be very good engines. For the most they have not seen any more issues than most good engines see. None are perfect. Even Honda's have their share of grief. I have a friend who has made a lot of money off broken Honda's.
