My first issue with the HHR SS! The MAP sensor went out on me last week and the left front has a rattle when I hit small bumps. So I set an appointment with them to take the car in this Friday. Also have to have the recall done on it with the IC Pipe.

What makes the MAP sensor go out?

These cars have had a bad run of MAP sensors that GM is still working its way through replacing. We've seen them fail even on cars at stock boost levels, so your tune is not the primary cause.

GM will fix you right up, though :)

Thank you! I loaded the stock tune back on and have been driving it pretty easy. I can't believe how much more power a tune will get you. I forgot how the car felt on the stock tune :)

14-15 psi when I was running about 25psi tapering off to 20-21 @ redline. lol

some problems

Ordered my hhr panel ss in october 2008 got it in november 2008. 2009 hhr panel ss silver ice metallic lsd brembos 5 speed. i needed a work truck that got better mileage than my pickup truck or a full sized van. I didn't like the lt models bumpers or grills or chrome packages. liked the ss bought it.
the day i got it the turbo gauge died. come to find out from the parts guy they had already ordered the gauge because they had the same problem when they rolled it off the truck, but they made me bring the car in to diagnose it anyway. then they had me bring it in again to replace the gauge a 10 minute job. the intercooler pipe cracked they replaced it the tpms suck the light always comes on and tells me the sensor is bad on one of the tires. it always comes back on after driving a while i cannot be bothered bringing it back to the dealer and my main warranty is up anyway. although i like it i can check the air pressure manually if they finally give up. the air bag light comes on intermittently but usually goes away for quite a while and when it comes on it usually goes off in a day or so. rust i got rust on the bottom of the doors where the sheet metal is folded rust bubbles which broke off when i wiped the car off at the car wash. galvanized door panels? brought that one back they painted the bottom of the doors 2 weeks later the rust was back. dealer told me chevy did not want to pay for the paint job. cant be bothered haggling over some surface rust although it pisses me off. this will be the last chevy i will ever own. the interior is cheap wish they had some padding or something on the dash board the plastic is just too cheap. the windshield wipers suck when i have them on delay and turn the knob up to slow they stay in delay mode i have to switch to high then back down to low to get them out of delay. can't be bothered compliaing about this and 36k was long ago so anything i fix now i have to pay for. had a hell of a time getting brakes for the car wanted to get some drilled and slotted rotors cant chevy want $220 for a set of pads. got ebcs for $90.00. ended up having to get the rotors from chevy at $90.00 ea. so far haven't had too many problems i like the power. wish i could get a 6 speed trans. over all i am pretty happy with it it is a head turner still get a lot of compliments on it still people are asking if it is a custom job. thanks for reading

Needless to say, you will never hear about all the HHR's that have zero issues
