Question 2008 Chevy HHR SS Engine Cover

I'm about to purchase a 08' HHR SS but the engine cover is missing. I was wondering if anyone knew where I could purchase one if I have to. Thanks!

Welcome.

Not sure what part you mean, the SS does not have an "engine cover".

Do you mean valve cover maybe ? Or air filter housing cover maybe ?

Wasn't sure what it was called lol. I guess it would be the air filter housing cover.

Usually not just the cover will be missing. Folks will remove the entire air filter housing and lid when they install an aftermarket air intake system.

You could try posting an ad in this site's classifieds. Or, try searching the salvage yards( will be hard to find one there)
Last resort would be trying to buy a new one. They are very expensive new, if you can find one.

And, you mentioned getting one if you have to. I can't see why, unless it has an aftermarket intake you want to remove. If that is the case, you can probably work out a swap with someone when you do that. I don't think it's a big issue, though it's not my car...

Yeah I know its not a big deal but I do like the look of it with the cover. Nothing is aftermarket so I don't know why the cover isn't there.
