2009 SS just died - please help!

I was driving to church this morning when the car suddenly had no power at all. I was able to pull to the side of the road. I looked at the dash and the oil light flashed on, but went away. I tried to restart and it would run for a few seconds roughly then shut off. Then would not restart. If I wait a few minutes it will restart again and run roughly for a few seconds and cut off again. Luckily I was at a place where someone had an OBD reader and said it was fuel pressure problem. I had to have it towed home. I currently have 12500 miles on her and drove over 750 miles in the last 2 weeks with no indication of problems.

Any ideas? Would it be a clogged fuel filter or what?

I am going to call a local dealership and see if I can have it towed in for service tomorrow. It should be under warranty since it is bone stock and has so few miles. I would like to know what to tell them before I go there.

Have you done any oil changes since you have had it? And do you use a fuel injector cleaner when you fuel up?

I have changed it once already and was about to change it again. I don't usually use fuel injector cleaner. Should I?

It almost seems like the fuel filter might be clogged. It will start up after a while and run for a few seconds then quit. It is like the clog comes loose and the flow comes back but once the pump kicks in it reclogs the fuel line. Possible?

It sounds like maybe you got a bad tank of fuel. that may have had junk in it or something.

don't know if we have a fuse for our fuel pumps but it might be worth a try to look

DavidJB,
You are a live saver. That was it. I didn't think about the fuses. Number 13 had blown and it is the fuse for the fuel pump. Thanks.

Any ideas what would cause it to blow?

They are cooled from the fuel in the tank - Run the tank way down? That might cause it to overheat and blow a fuse. FWIW - Our cars are notorious for fuses not seating all the way down.
