2010 limited slip question
I recently traded in my 2008 ls for a 2010 SS. after looking at the codes in my glovebox I noticed my car didn't have the g85 lsd code. When I called the dealer to find out I installed it would it be covered under warranty. I also asked how much it would cost to have it installed the dealer install it. They told me that my 2010 didn't have the lsd as an option. Could anyone help me with understanding why the service guy would say that. I would rather have an lsd installed but if it's not a possibility i'd just go with the turbo upgrade.
Thank you
Mike

You can buy it and for sure install it i know that turbo tech sells it. It wasnt an option in 10 because they basically took all the leftover parts they had and made a 10 run. Thats why the interior options are only black/black.

Also would installing the lsd from turbotech void the warranty?

First off. Welcome to Mikey! Ok, I have a 2010 SS with lsd.Ordered it with the perf.pkg.(Brembos,lsd)
Not sure if Mikey has an auto or stick. Lsd was only available with stick trans. That being said,is there an aftermarket lsd for the automatic?

Limited Slip Differential info
Mikeylikesit105,
I have to agree with ridgebackdog. Look to see if you have the J56 listed in your glovebox. The J56 is the Performance Package. This package would include (G85) limited slip differential and Brembo front brakes with 4 piston calipers, Brembo linings and performance rotors. However, in order to have this option on your 2010 Chevrolet HHR SS you will have to have the 5-speed manual transmission.
Just thought that you would like to try to see if you the above code in your list of options and features of your vehicle.
