Auto Transmission Issue

Auto Transmission Issue
I am having an issue with the auto transmission in our newly-acquired 2010 SS.
It has been running great.
Yesterday my son was driving it and said the trans started slipping. Off the line the rpm went up and the car slowly accelerated. He says that shutting off the engine and restarting fixes it for a very short while, and then it starts again. He also said that after restarting it and driving he set the cruise control. The car maintained the speed set by the cruise but after a short while you could see the rpm start climbing. I am going to have to drive it myself and see what is happening.
I read the codes and there is the "generic" 0700 which just means there is a transmission problem.
There is also a 0824 code, which means the TCM is not seeing TCC release pressure (at the pressure switch). This doesn't seem to make sense given that he says it was slipping.
I checked the fluid level, and there is plenty of fluid (a bunch came out when pulling the level check plug).
Any ideas?
I'll do the mandatory battery disconnect to reset the electronics, just in case.
A transmission that is worn and causing slipping doesn't usually fix itself, even temporarily, by restarting the car.

Hmmm, could be the TCC solenoid or it could be a wire harness issue

You might want to open the side case and check the connections and replace those solenoids

HHR SS with and automatic needs to be driven judiciously. Not a lot of reserve strength there. Some hold up well, some don't. Pretty much the same transmission as the 2.2 & 2.4. This is one reason SS manuals are more in demand.
With any luck, it's just a solenoid or something.
