Remove the retainer tabs place a drill bit in the hole to hold the gear to remove the 15 mm bolt holding the gear (sprocket) on. Re-install the new gear and torque to 37 ft-lbs. The new gear is slotted so it can only go on one way. Do not mix up the intake & exhaust balance shaft gears.

No need. Impact buzzed it right off, with no issues.

I'm just curious on where you found this information, because I scoured but couldn't find it anywhere.

Exactly. I was careful to mark everything (including these shafts and gears) during disassembly. Not to mention, the balance shaft sprockets have notations on the front, "intake" and "exhaust." So unless you're really in the twilight zone, you can't mess it up! Haha!
