Carmax put in KYB Excel-G Struts in my SS?

Hello,
Just got back from Carmax and they did some warranty work and replaced both left and right struts. They used my original springs.
The invoice reads L300318655KYB / SHOCK &/OR STRUT ASSEMBLY - SS and L300318656KYB / SHOCK &/OR STRUT ASSEMBLY - SS
What baffles me is that I dont see anywhere that KYB makes a front strut for the SS? Let alone the part numbers cant be found on the internet??
All I see on the strut is the KYB EXCEL-G sticker.
Wondering if I they put the softer ride struts in or not?
THX.....

Its seem a just a little bit softer but not like a FE1 suspension.
When I first purchased it rode like a vette feeling every crack in the road. I figured it was just the FE5 ride or was it really bad?
Not sure about the height will check in the daytime.

Don when you ask about height. Are you asking if the stroke length is different?

The struts don’t effect the ride height, on an SS the steering knuckles and springs give the lower suspension

When I too looked up in the KYB catalog all I found was struts for the LS and LT models.
I thought maybe KYB made strut shock inserts. You would keep the same strut housing remove the top nut and install a replacement shock in the tube.

They may make it ride a little smoother but that Sport Tuned Suspension ain't sport tuned anymore.
If it was mine I would ask for replacement parts that are supposed to be on there.
If you have to get any other parts replaced, what other LS, LT parts might they use.

I thought the springs on the FE5 where shorter?
FE3 is "Sport Tuned".
The struts on HHR don't use cartridges, I'm not sure if any cars do anymore.
Summit racing says 339085 is the shock for all HHR (driver side).

You are correct Don. I should have said Performance tuned instead of Sport tuned.
I would still be asking for the correct parts.
