codes p0221 and po121
The codes told them it is gummed up.
Seems strange that the tech couldn't figure out how to take a hose off! But, as I say all the time "dealership techs went to the same trade schools as everybody else" Don't be fooled by all the certificates on the wall, they just mean getting a paid vacation.

well it was getting late in the day and i feel they were trying to put it off and keep it another day, when it was at the dealer they also did the recalls, the ignition switch and the passenger air bag wiring, they had trouble getting the keys cut for the new ignition, which i think they took longer in fixing than working on my initial problem. also when i picked it up, i took it in with 75568 mileage and got it back with 75625, 57 miles!! now granted i picked up up Wednesday and drove it about 20 miles tops trying to get it to set the code again, but no way i drove it 57 miles! i know they drove it as well trying to set the code, but damn!
So back at the dealer and I am being told now it's the throttle body and the connector need replaced, but the connector is built into the throttle body right, or are they talking about the "male" connector end is bad? $750 to replace both!!! If they have to replace the connector because of a bad design ( I am being told this) why isn't it a recall? Aaarrggghhh!
They're probably referring to the connector on the end of the wiring harness. Where it's located, it's prone to holding on to water/debris. The throttle body itself isn't cheap, but the "connector" on its side is mated with the TB. If they replaced both it was definitely the wiring harness + TB.
"Probably" needed to replace the TB and while they were in there they "preventatively" replaced the wiring harness connector.
-my 2 cents

I seem to recall a design change on the connector.
A throttle body can be had for $150.

well considering where the throttle body is and how hard it is to get to, i took it to a shop and had them replace the throttle body and pigtail connector. but it still isnt right. it idles good, runs good, just not the power i used to have. it feels like i lost my GM tune upgrade somehow. I can only get 10-15 pounds of boost and it feels like it has to ramp up to get boost. I used to get 20 pounds of boost easily. when i got close to home the turbo was not even engaging. could it be something to do with a boost leak? i would think it would run rough if it had a boost leak. could my ECU need reflashed after the throttle body?
so i was in contact with my repair shop all day friday. On the way home i was getting on an on ramp and gave it some gas and turbo spooled to about 5psi and fell flat on its face. no boost at all, got home and checked out some connections, nothing looked loose. didnt drive it all weekend, today on the way back to the repair shop it threw a p0299 code, which usually pertains to the wastegate. I dont get this... I just had the throttle body replaced by the shop and now i am getting this. could one thing really lead to the other? I am hoping it is just a boost leak still and can be remedied easily. I have read some info on the code p0299 and really hoping its not the turbo itself. I guess what i am wondering more than anything is did i really need the throttle body or was it something to do with the turbo itself....
Sometimes one thing can lead to another and loose grounds , hose clamps , wire harness connections can cause havock.
Your new problem can be from the onset of the old problem , but I think it's related to the parts removed to get to the TB to change it.
Don't panic till all that is inspected and confirmed per this from Ross Tech,

I think your shop is throwing parts at the problem. Be glad they started on the cheaper end.
Don't forget to check for vacuum leaks.
Some codes will not show up for 20-30 cold start cycles after the memory is cleared.
