does this fuel line part really need to be changed out when taking the intake off?

According to gm service manuals and various parts breakdown lists
They say that when removing the round fuel line connection it must be replaced.
I am assuming many on here have not replaced this part when removing intake manifold?
The part is coded as item #12 in this listing actual part # on mine is 12590703
FUEL SUPPLY SYSTEM-FRONT. Fits: Cobalt, HHR, Pursuit, Sky, Solstice | Nalley Buick GMC Brunswick

I've taken my intake off multiple times, never replaced or touch that part. Unless you mean intake manifold? Then I don't know

Do they actually mean the clip part of the connector? Maybe.

Guess I should have been a little clearer.
Gm shows part#12 above which cists sbout$50.00 as needing to be replaced whenever it is removed.
Since I see no way of removing the intake manifold without removing #12 above
I was looking to see if anyone has removed #12 above and replaced without any issues
