Got a question about tire size???

Im going to replace my tires very soon and was wondering what is the TALLEST tire size I can put on the SS 18in rim? I have the stock size 225/45/18 now.

Thanks for the help

About 26" total diameter, maybe a hair over, before you will be rubbing on the front strut.

There's a good tire size calculator here... http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/infoTireMath.dos

I have been running 245/40-18 Hankook Ventus for 10000 miles. No rubbing and they look great. More important to me is the traction in the wet. It is much, much better than the stock tires, which have a very poor rating on Tirerack.

Using that calculator, the stock SS tire is 25.97" in diameter. You are saying there is basically no more room for a taller tire? Can someone post pics of the SS front tire clearance to the bottom of the strut?

Sorry for the small pic, but for some reason I can only access mobil photobucket at the moment.

225/45R18. I believe the bottom of the strut plate is the same across the board.

I measured mine and there is 5/16" of clearance with stock rim and tire. Measurement taken at a slight angle to get the widest clearance. Tire has mostly all tread depth.
Question. Do these tires "grow" in height at higher speeds? Center maybe, sidewall not as much?

bigger tires

I had them mount a 255x40 and it fits but it was too wide on the wheel, side was way past square so I ordered 245x40 conti extreme contact DWS Wow I love them take a look next is the pedders
