For the guys who have changed their oil in the SS....

just making sure I read it right......manual calls for 5 qts for the 2.0, 2.2 and 2.4.....just double checking before I start, dont wanna put too much in and couldnt find exactly a 100% straight answer from the manual.....TIA

Easiest oil change ever. I get a 5-quart jug of Mobile-1 from W-Mart for around $23. And a filter from somewhere. You can pour the used oil back in the jug for recycling. Make sure you get a 1.25" short socket for the filter.

Yep, it's not a spin on filter, but a canister style.

They have also supplied a device that accurately determines oil level in the motor... they ought to get some kind of patent protection on it before everyone else copies this great idea...

Yeah, just like the other guys said, it's the cap on a cast-in canister. The filter is a cartridge that fits in. Just take care to avoid a cross-thread disaster. It's really easy, and you don't have old oil running down your arm and into your armpit like when you do one from underneath.

Oh, and that little white dot is an alignment thing. When you tighten it back up, just tighten it back to where it was from the factory.

When you're done, tell us how way-easy it was.
