I work on forklifts for a living. My company has a product labeled as “Premium chain and cable lube” which is what I switched to after we got the cable partially freed up.

 

******UPDATE***** Just got in the famous HHR SS Shifter cables that GM started to reproduce, seems that by harassing them left and right, they finally gave in !!! 🤣🤣

Hey just curious to where and how you got new cables. I have an 06 Cobalt SS which uses the similar cables I think (15277760). I have been scouring all the parts websites but have had no luck. Everyone seems to think that GM just isn't making them anymore. Thought about trying to find one at a wrecker, but didn't want to deal with a used part with the same problem.

 

This entire thread was about how Firebuff got his cables from a dealer. Looking at the picture he posted in post #22 the part numbers are different.

 

Got the cables online from Tubman Gm in Ottawa, Ontario but like Donbrew said, yours are probably different
