Lack of power on acceleration

Drove a long trip, a couple of hours, when I turned a corner to accelerate, the car wouldn't go, just felt like it was bogging down, thought I heard a backfire. I floored it, didn't seem to make any difference. Car was generating boost like normal. I let off the gas, and floored it again, car took off like normal. On the way back on my trip, car did the same thing twice. No warning lights or any boost issues according to the gauges that I can see. Any ideas? I don't have any tools to check codes.

Hmmm. Check and see if your air filter didn't slide off when you went around the corner...

If you can Drive it OK go to local advance auto or better yet call first and see if they can check for an engine code.if your check engine light is on pretty much any scanner will pull and list it for ya if its running that bad and no check engine light then you will need a better scanner to find stored codes.
Any more info on this issue

How could that stock air cleaner slide off? It's bigger than the engine!

This is about the SS, it's not that big.

This is about the SS, there is no elbow.

badassbowtie may have been messing around with that response. Who knows, but it's not going to slide off.

This thread is over 5 years old!!
