Sure it's gonna ride better, you have decreased the spring rates..

Interesting observation that some may have missed...Many people have lowered the NON SS cars with grest results..equal to or better then the stock ss setup..yet are afraid to apply this to the SS ..they are the same cars..except for a small change in rate spring and shock characteristics..lets face it..Factory is OK at best, unless your paying high dollar for your car your getting mediocre parts. So why wouldnt these same parts work just fine on the SS? Most people would never be able to tell the difference unless they have been thru years of playing with lowering...and most people are DD types so having the best of the best is not necessary or cost effective...just saying

Hot Rod Johnee ya sold me.

I ordered a set of Red Line Eibachs from Summit and had Sport Muffler on Lincoln (now DTA Motorsports) install them.

All I can say is thanks.

Previously I bought H+R's and the thing road like a truck.

Though I just drove for an hour or so and they have settled yet, I'd say they ride the same one smooth roads, maybe 10% to 15% more harsh on the crumpled streets of LA. No bouch, no slam, Almost stock.

Love the look as I didn't want a low rider, (draws too many cops on the west side as it is not ticket heaven).

I did one hard downhill off camber sweeper at about 70 (tight turn that runs 200 degrees) and it held like always maybe a little better, got the rear end out a few percent but not enough to scare me.

I dig these springs as now the wheels/tires don't look tiny or like a stomper, just right.

Also standing out too much in El Lay requires a fund for the tichet brigade. Just had to remove my front window tint, though the cops had pulled over 7 cars while I set there, all sports type euros and rods.

The cool thing was the DTA guys which own a clothing line (Don't Trust Anyone) were hanging out with a few of their cars. They have some monsters, a 500 whp golf with a turbo as big as the block, a rat rod that is welded down and on bags where it can ride on the bumper, a scion with a 6 cyl supra engine and twin turbos, so these guys dig iron.

They look at the HHR and went nuts, saying I didn't know Chevy made anything like that.

Today if I get time I'll have the tint put back on the windows, and bought HP tuners and signed with James from the Cobalt forum to get to 350 whp.

I proably will then add a new intercooler with metal instead of plastic ends.

Anyway, just gotta say thanks.

These were developed for the conalt SS but are perfect for the HHR SS and the ride is incredible, i even had somone with me on the test drive and he agreed..

I knew someone would appreciate Russ. I've never been happier. I have a lowered S2000 and now I drive the Hhr more than the honda and my honda is a head turner with hardtop, cr lip, enkei sbc rpf1's, etc.. I have to give props to the guys at modern performance as they helped me make my mind up taking the sportlines over the pedders or coilivers..

P.S. ur wheels look great!!!!!!

Do you mean these sportline Eibachs?

http://www.summitracing.com/search/Y...ortline+eibach

I have only had them a week or so and I've been on a brutal schedule of work and travel and haven't had time to do anthing but have the tires put on, drive a few blocks and admire them.

I haven't seen any bounce not like a lowered Honda Civic that is scrapping bumper with the trash can on the exhaust.

I've said before I love the HHR SS., wish it had a few more details (who doesn't) like more storage compartment space like a center console and the electronic nanny would go back to Sweden.

I do love the HHR SS and I'm not that big into old stuff, but it is obviously a chevrolet, (say the same about a Sonic or Cruize), it has a lot or power per litre and you can haul a lot of stuff when you want to and we're mericans' so we're always hauling stuff.

The car hauls ass, but it really needs little things fixed, IMO, like the TTR top motor mount, (best money you can spend) a bottom sensor relocate, no plastic on the piping or end tanks of the intercooor, a slight lowering so the tires down't look tiny and a good tuner.
I've also added dual magnaflows, new wheels, tires new harness to get to the plug and play Stage 1.

For tuning I've tried Vince and he's a nice guy, but kind of falls off the earth from time to time and all I realy want tuned is a constant 25 lbs of push, that dreaded torque management 1-2 shift - shut off-turn on-shut off as it's too violent for the transmission and to honestly drive safely under hard take off, where the tires spin, lock up.

I just want the tires to spin and off you go.

After the tune, I'll go with an intercoolr, I've looked at crazy steve, Haun and ZZP then some metal intercolor piping.

Finally I'd like to add some black brembos and send the trans out to those guys in michigan that work with ZZP and toughen up the auto trans.

I guess the list goes on with what we an do with the cars and I dig that.

PS. The kids that work for me especially one of them hates the hhr ss.

He's 25 and thinks his butt should only ride in a bmw, which I think it kind of funny, because except for prius' in So Cal, there are about 80 trillion dark grey 3 series on the west side of El Lay and if you've ever driven a 328 they're a stone and ride like a hollow rock with those run flats.

A 335 will move but not much faster than our cars with some mods and of course an M-3 hauls ass but at $50,000 + it should.

Anyway sorry to get off of topic, but IMO chevy did this car 80% right and just one more update would have put us in nirvnana. Imagine if Larry Shinoda was around to add some touches to the body and interior?

To me it's a modern style rod as it has power, is really comfortable, very unique and compared to my EVO8, Trailblazer SS and Impala SS, the fuel mileage of the HHR SS is like driving for free.

Even Mr. Hope and Change would like the HHR SS.

The Impala I love just because its had some work done to it as we're doing the tune it's got magnaflows and on order doug throuley headers.

Last night I pulled into the Grove with a maserati in front and an AMG in back and as the Impala rumbled in the two valet guys argued on which one would drive it while the foreign boys stood there kind pissed that nobody was noticing them.

Anyway, I guess I'm tired so sorry about ramblin' on for such a simple question and I do thank Hot Rod Johnnie, as he gave me the right info to find the right springs and saved me a grand from going with the coil over pedders.

And to answer the question, Eibach Sportline originally for the Cobalt SS and absolutely no bounce in the back, trimmed all bumpstops and handles like my S2000... Not really, but close for my topsoil getter.. Lol!!!
