The P0302 is probably related to the A/F problem. Evidently, your scanner doesn't differentiate between current codes and historic codes. They all display some bastardization of the generic title of the code, that is why you should always ignore that part and do your own research.
"OBD codes" are the number assigned to various tests, when a test fails that code is stored. Like you had 5 quizzes in different classes today and failed the one in 1st period; it would store a 1; it doesn't tell you which questions you got wrong it just tells you to go back to class #1 and look into it. Some machines would call that class math, some math 101, some introduction to math, some introduction to dummy mathematics etc.
You either have a problem with an air/vacuum leak in the intake or a problem with either the MAF or the TMAP. There is not as much air getting into the combustion chambers as the computer think there should be. Either it is true or a sensor is wrong.
Just double check and make sure the previous owner didn't put an aftermarket air filter in the stock box. (like a K&N)
As Don stated, it's probably something else but no harm in checking the simple things.
Thanks guys I appreciate all of the help you have all been life savers...it’s an oem filter...it’s dirty and my box is opened on passenger side like its missing a hose and the rubber around the bolts holding the the air box down is deteriorated...it was a for a 65 year old lady in Mississippi who lived down a dirt road so it’s all been rattled to hell and back. I will do my best to track down all of these issues and keep everyone updated thanks again
You need to have that hose in place with the stock air box. Without it you're just drawing in hotter air from under the hood.
Have also heard of some other members without that hose in place (SS and regular HHR's) where it would set a trouble code.
Like I stated before, the SS can get very finicky if you alter the intake air. Even a missing hose will do that.
I'm not saying it is causing your exact problems. It's possible it could, but the missing hose can cause problems as noted by other members here.
Fwiw. I'll bet that part may be expensive new from GM. You might want to call a few wrecking yards and see if they have any SS's. 2008-2010 use the same part on the stock air box.
