Miles on an oil change?

I just got done doing a 10,000 mile service. Since I bought the SS I had changed the oil at 1000mi and at 5000mi. At the 10,000 the oil life monitor was reading 21%. At what mile mile mark do you change your oil? or do you change it according to the oil life monitor?

Uh oh! Now you gone and done it!

Here's a thread on oil change intervals, you'll find varying opinions and arguments, give it a read and draw your conclusions.

IMO...On a highly strung turbocharged engine like yours, I'd change the oil every 3,000 miles, but that is just my opinion because the oil life indicator is not foolproof.

I don't want to start an oil thread. I am curious of what sort of oil life reading folks are having when they change their oil at what ever mileage.

Three time per reset, bout 4,500 miles each, still looks ugly when it comes out.:D

The point was ANOTHER thread:smile:. Search tool is your friend:wink:. Now let's ask what brand is best, nobody ever asked that.:clappy:

How about not thinking of it as thread but a survey. My interest is in how much variation in mileage verses oil life readings. I already know I use the best oil and filter known to man and my maintenance skills are supreme.

Really, the thread and "surveys" have been done to death here. We almost need a separate category for it. LOL

Like donbrew says, the search engine is your friend. ;-)

(now I got to go change my oil again, cause I change my oil whenever a new thread pops up on this subject. This makes about 4 oil changes in the last 6 months. Gonna go broke at this rate - oh well, I'll just cut back on the dog's feed)

ok, you win, never mind, forget it,sorry I brought it up. c-ya later, happy motoring.

When the Oil Life reads 40%, we change it.
