Does the SS, Mobil 1 labeled oil fill cap fit the other HHRs' ? Is it the same as the pic here ?

If so what is the GM Part # please ?

 

I am only replying to this thread so I subscribe to it. I too would be interested in getting a cap for my 2.2 if it fits... It'd be neat since I run Mobil 1 in it anyways...

 

Can't speak specifically of the SS oil cap, but I believe just after the HHR was introduced, in '06, the topic came up regarding the Vette cap, with Mobil 1 imprinted, would fit. I tried doing a search, but the "history" does not go back that far.

I think people were also buying some advertised on ebay as aluminum billet caps with the Mobil 1 designation, that also were for the Vette.

I just checked mine and it appears the 2008 Corvette "Mobil 1" oil cap fits (as well as the HHR cap fitting the Vette). It does attach to the OEM oil fill snorkel on the HHR. I DID NOT try if it fits the valve cover, on the HHR.

I just checked GM Parts House. The price of the SS Oil Filler Cap is almost twice the price of the 2.2 or 2.4 cap. Must be the "turbo or Mobil 1 tax".

 

Gotta pay licensing fees I guess....

Thank You, guess the Ebay Vette caps with external nubs on them, don't look like they would fit the HHR snorkel tube with OE HHR air box.

 

Now I really want to check to see what mine says...

I wont be running Mobil 1 on my SS so I should change mine

Thanks for checking..It fits the HHR snorkel oil fill, then it will fit the valve cover as well.. Same opening & locking deal..
