Hey ChevMgr. With a vin code of 8S663763 which obviously falls between 8S581592 8S722574 for the 2008 Chevrolet HHR SS model year, my unit is affected. Do you think that this is a break/fix initiative, or can owners request the upgrade as a preventative failure action?

Thanks for your insight.

I called up my local dealer and they said the bulletin stated to replace the parts without question.

Yours is involved and there are two scenarios here. Either A the vehicle already has the new stud or B it's going to get it.

ChevyMgr, thanks for the bulletin. I called my service guy and he told me to come on down to the dealer. Got there and we looked to see if it is broken but couldn't see it from the top. So we're going to drop the car off next Tuesday before I go to Iowa.

He was wondering how I got the Service bulletin for the Shifting problem before they did. Top Secret! LOL

Thanks again ChevyMgr !
Talked to the service dept. today, Told them about this issue, He asked were did you hear this. I told him a friend in Texas, he said he'd check it out , Called me 10 min. later to say he found it and the part-s are ordered and he'd call me when they get them. This site sure is an information motherload.

I am still waiting to hear back from my dealership. They said they ordered the parts over two weeks ago but still no word from them.
