P0133 problem
Greetings,
I have searched this Forum and threads and found hints but no real answer.
2010 HHR SS third owner
Symptoms:
Rough Idle, chugging RPM fluctuates between 800-1K
RPD reports DNA for Air/Fuel gauge.
Fuel smell
Black soot with fuel shoots/squirts out the tailpipe on startup.
Old O2 Sensor:

Work done so far:
Replaced MAF
Replaced Filter
Replaced upper O2
Cleared P0133 Code
Not started the engine yet.
She is still on jack stands and before I bring her down what else should I consider doing. The O'Reilly auto guy suggest replacing the CAT. Other posts recommend a new throttle body. Knowing my luck I would not be surprised if the 5 year powertrain is up.
On a side note:
I recently got the car back from the dealership for the recall and curb smack work noticed 40 extra miles and a significant amount of tire wear, tire wall wear. Tire soot on the tie rods, knuckle wheel wells.
The vehicle when delivered had brand new tires(with tire tities) cleaned wheel wells, cleaned engine compartment. I noticed a week later the air cleaner box was sucking up engine compartment air because the cold air input hose was not reconnected. The filter was not on all the way on. MAF was caked with carbon. All symptoms of a nice little joyride.

I would suggest cranking it up and see if that fixed it. Not much else was going to be done on jackstands.
You can always put it back on the stands if needed.
My opinion. I wouldn't listen to a parts guy's suggestion. He's probably never worked on a SS.
Fwiw. SS's are notorious for the "sooty tailpipe" condition. Just the nature of the 2.0 turbo/direct injection engine.
Mine will leave a soot mark like that if I rev it up after 1-2 mins of a cold startup. Just the natural moisture blowing out through the exhaust system and washing out the soot buildup.
You may have a little extra soot buildup with your problem.

BUT, if that much extra fuel is going through the cat it may be a casualty, not a cause.
A code P0133 may mean that one or more of the following has happened: The oxygen sensor is faulty The wiring to the sensor is broken / frayed There is an exhaust leak

Which I seem to remember posting recently in another thread. In response to you.
