P0234 Overboost (27-28 PSI on Stage 1
What goes bad? Torn diaphragm? Spring?
Yes, and yes. I switched to forge, then switched again, to forge.

Your problem could be a few other things, I just thought going with the Forge eliminates it as a possibility, well as long as you keep it lubed.....

The dealer called and said they couldn't reproduce the error code after clearing it but agreed it was getting 27-28+ PSI of boost. They called GM and GM said the boost with a turbo upgrade could go as high as 34 PSI! I don't think so. Stock I was getting 15-17 and with the upgrade 20-23. I have never seen over 25 consistently.
Now maybe they can get up to 27-28 or even 34 PSI but something has changed. I need to do some research. The dealer is perplexed too since they are getting conflicting information.
Edit: It just dawned on me - the 34PSI is including atmospheric pressure. "Boost" should be 20 PSI (34-14). Ok 14.7 at sea level to be exact. I need to call them back and help them along ... At least warranty was a month longer than I thought.

I know everyone is on the edge of their seat
so here is an update:
The dealer still has the car. Part of the issue is they are backed up and since I have other cars to drive I am fine with that. But once I explained the issue with the 34 PSI of manifold pressure vs 20 PSI of boost, they agreed they hadn't really diagnosed it correctly. I would love 34 PSI of boost but I don't think GM would warranty it!
So, any bets on what they will find? :)

Agreed. One conversation did get to the point where I told them, "you think it's fine, it's not. Fix it and I am not picking it up until it is." But after the map vs boost discussion they understood. They are a good service department though (rare but true.)
Ok, so now it's time to bring in Jessica. The dealer is treating it as no SES - it's not broken. They've been trying to get the SES to set.
Think the head gaskets can handle 30 PSI? It's out of 5/100k (6/30/2013) and I don't want to take it back until it's fixed. It shouldn't have that much boost.
I will probably have to fix it myself. Oh well.
