I didn't even know the SS has a cabin filter. I've had to change the cabin filter in the Avalanche a few times and it is a b!tch to get to it.

I would say it's time to change the cabin air filter, it should be changed once a year.

I just changed my cabin air filter in the SS but I can't find the part# for the engine air cleaner anywhere.

I need the AC Delco number like "PF42". I stopped by Advance Auto last night and they didn't even have a part number in the computer for any brand air filter. Why is this part so scarce?? It's just an air filter.

Also I searched the part # you posted on gmpartsdirect.com and it yields no results.

Well after calling around the cheapest the paper filter is is $33.79. The K&N is about $20.00 more, who has the K&N and do you like it? I can't believe how expensive the air filter is for this thing...

After reading this post earlier in the week, I placed an order at rockauto.com. I ordered a Wix Air Filter, 2 Wix cabin air filters, an AC Delco Oil filter for the HHR and one for my other car. It came to $60 with shipping. The Filters were $23 and $12. Something to think about

Cabin air filter replace in my '08' LT was simple, take glove box out, open filter slot opening cover, slide out dirty, slide in clean, 5 minutes.

How do you take the glove box out? Does it come off it's hinges? does the owner's manual show you how to do it?
