Well, I'm going to see if the dealer can find it and fix it...if not then I will replace every damn thing in the front, one piece at a time, until I fix it.
I trust my buddy to find and fix this noise, but we'll see[ or I will surely rattle his cage-just like the ole days]. I made up a list of possible things causing problem, so I'll check them off one at a time. sway bar bushings is a the top of the list, right under intermediate shaft, and rack and pinion. "Moon"

Just a thought Moon, did the noise start once you had the Pedders springs installed? If so could it be that the stiffer springs are adding stress on another suspension point?

The noise was always there since new, but not so loud. Before now, I either turned the music up, or rolled the windows down, so I could'nr hear it.
Seems like more milage I get on the SS, the louder it gets. Finally decided to see if I can get it fixed. I'm gonna, or the dealer's gonna, throw the book at it, to find out what it is.
Don't think the pedders springs were the problem. "Moon"

The rubber bumpers that I am talking are in the following picture. I just borrowed this from chevy's site and painted on it.
They put little rubber o-rings under these that pushed them up about 5mm.
