Surging when driving normal
Your correct if and IF is a BIG word also requires an effort. I had Secret Services solder both upper and lower connections haven't has an issue in 2 Years. If people can't read and learn from others who have had the same issue and rectified it. Well then let them ride around then with the issue while the rest of us. Cruise on by LOL at them and listen to them continue to cry. People take the time cut off the crappy GM connectors solder the wires then double shrink wrap them. Tell me later how much you appreciate it. Rant done.
My dealer did the connection correct so I have no issues even with the connectors and they moved my intercooler and solved the one issue I did have. No charge too.
I think more people would get them soldered if the dealer would do it. Lets face it if they can crimp how well do they solder. Most people need to seek better dealers for the most part.
Yes There are only two main issues that come up time and time again bad connections or the T map hitting the AC. Both are easy to address and easy to fix. The issue for most to be fair is poor dealer service often refusing to do what is needed.

Find me a dealer in Southern California that will move the intercooler and solder the connectors properly.
I'm serious, in fact I'm so serious about it I've considered having the car shipped to Texas, either the service manager's shop in Dallas, or to that Houston Custom shop.
Let's get real and don't let GM off the hook on this. I'm not mad, but nobody has the time or patience to keep taking a car in for repairs knowing their is a 20% chance it will be done right, a 80% chance that it will be worse.
I also need the brake booster, especially if a valet drives the car because it scares the crap out of them when they hit the brakes and it keeps rolling, but like others, I'm loathe to take it back to the dealer knowing they might mess up the turbo upgrade worse, or do some other strange thing.
So as I've posted before, let's make a list of good dealers that will fix something right, even if it's out of pocket, or better yet, make a petition to GM to get on top of the matter.
J.
I agree. Or like me take the matter into your own hands and do it yourself. it's not hard, not being an ARSE but just do the connections yourself and move the intercooler....And you'll be a happier camper. Then you can say to yourself and other I did it with a little help from my HHR forum family...But that's just my .02 worth... P.S Secret Services will do it not an issue...Have a great day. hoping you get your elctrical demons under control....When I step on the little skinny pedal on the right hand side my Turbo screams no issues here.
I would like to do it myself. I'm in the electronics field and have no problems making the connections. Unfortunately I can't see working on the engine when there is a problem and giving GM a reason to deny my claim. I soon as I would make those connections I'm giving them an out.

Yeah I got the skills, but have learned not to trust dealers in general. After my last car had a transmission that blew up at 60'000 miles you tend to be very careful with and not give them a way of getting out of standing behind their products.
Fixing the issue by soldering the wires would not void any warranty and might actually save them money anyways. Don't count on the dealer ever to do the right thing with performance issues. The fact is, they messed up from the biginning by not just making a plug and play connector. If I would have known that it was this simple, I would have been making them myself.
